HOLY ISLAND- 30 minute drive

Famous for it's fast flowing tides cutting the Island off twice a day and often trapping unsuspecting visitors on the island. Go for a day trip and spot some of their local wildlife, enjoy some of the great walks, or walk around the 12th Century Priory ruins and go and see the castle. The little village also offers some got eateries or perhaps pick up a bottle of Holy Island gin.


FARNE ISLANDS- 40 minute drive

The Farne Islands are part of the National Trust Heritage Group and are made up of a collection of inner an outer islands which are bursting with local wildlife such as pufffins, razorbills and seals. You can get a boat from Seahouses to visit some of the Islands, Billy Shiel's even allow you to take your dog on the boat. 


FORD AND ETAL - 30 minute drive

Why not head to the Ford and Etal estate and enjoy a day filled with a visit to the Lavender Tea room, a ride on the steam train, a walk around Etal Castle ruins or maybe learn about the Battle of Flodden.  If you are animal mad like us you might decide to go the the Hay Farm Heavy Horse Centre. There is a lot to do here which will definitely fill your whole day, if you prefer a bit of exercise head into Ford Moss nature reserve or canoe the river with Active 4 Seasons.


DUNS - 25 minute drive

Duns is a local Borders Town which is home to the Jim Clark Motorsports Museum and Duns Castle and Nature reserve. If you are up for a walk it is a great place to head and then you can treat yourself to an ice cream or coffee in the market square once you have finished.


KELSO - 40 minute drive

The market town of Kelso is a good place to go if you are look to get something to eat, potter around a few independent shops or visit the farmers market.  You could also make a day of it by visiting Floors Castle and Gardens (dog friendly gardens) which is Scotland's largest inhabited Castle and is situated on the outskirts of Kelso. 


NORTH BERWICK - 50 minute drive

North Berwick is a great little seaside town with plenty to see and do. Whether you explore the shops, bars and cafes, visit the famous Bass Rock, head to the Scottish Seabird centre or go out on a boat trip there is plenty going on in North Berwick. If you are interested in Gin there is the NB distillery near by.
